These are the things I've never leave home without...

First..my glasses.. With -5.00 D on my right eye and -4.50 D on the other..I'm practically blind without it..

My wallet.. Not much you can find in it. But I do need it to hold my driver license, bank atm card, and some cash. Especially driver license..don't wanna get ticket for that..

Two mobile phone.. One is to get entertained wherever I am,my lovely pink NGage classic. And one to take pictures and get connected to the outerworld,my K660i.. Something went wrong with my pinky.. Help??

A pen.. Must have one in my bag.. Inspiration can come unpredictably.. Love to write..

See the fish-look-alike thing? That's my room's keychain - handmade - using unused iv line.. Forget to bring it,then bye bye baby..

Though we're living near coastal area,but we also have mountainery scene to look at..

When it's morning time,the view was unbearable.. But I do get a rather different way the sun rising and setting here..

I usually experienced sunrise from behind the mountain and sunset in the sea..at least from the two last cities I've grown up.. Here,the sun rising from the sea,and setting behind the mountain...

Long Way to Go

To reach the other part of my town,we must go across a quite wide river called Buol River (Kuala Buol in local language). Not as wide as the widest river in Indonesia,though,but it did took a long way to go.

Especially because the bridge over it is too..well..pathetic if I may say. It just consists of metal constructions and many,many not well piled up woods.

It's a one way only bridge. So we must be very patient to wait on the other side of the river to cross over.

This bridge is very old. And become the most important bridge to connect this town to other bigger town.

I wonder when will they reconstruct this bridge.. There are lots of deadly accidents happened on it already.. Though it just took 5 minutes to go across the other side,but it feels like it tooks a long way to go there..

Mosquitoes

Like most tropical countries,in time of rainy season,we got a very dangerous enemies to fought for.. Mosquitoes..

Mosquitoes are vectors to many illness that can be deadly to human. The most that we can find here,in my little town, is malaria.

Sick people who are coming with fever, nausea, vomitus, headache, artralgia, diarrhea, and/or abdominal discomforts are - usually - infected by them. The worst of them can even become unconcious if not get any treatment or miss-treated.

Well, the main problem in reducing this is not easy. Our environment is in a place that I would say to be watery land, where most mosquitoes are like to breeding at. And in time like we have now, when heavy rains are pouring everyday, there's no chance that the land would dry up..

Going Fishing

Indonesia is well-known for its archipelago. Most of its people lived near coastal area. Including the cities I've been lived in. Makassar,Manado,and now this little town,Buol,in Central Celebes.

Since it's not well-developed yet,the majority of its people are going fishing to support their life. Either they're doing it by themselves,or by groups. Using fishing poles or fishing nets.

Not everyday we can find the activity like the one I accidentally caught on camera. From where I stand,the view was undescribable. Knowing maybe that caught they get only enough for them to fulfill their needs in one single day.

Going fishing... My heroic fishermen are fighting for their life...

Tadpoles

While I was waiting for a rental motorcycle this morning to take me to the hospital,as usual,I can't help myself to look around. Finding there's nothing interesting as far as I can see above my shoulder,I looked over to the sewer beneath me.

And I saw a lot of tadpoles swimming around. So cute.. I reached out to my bag to take my cellphone.
And that's when a rental motorcycle stopped..so I hurried myself to hopped on.

Just when I want to post this photo I realize.. I can not see any tadpole in the picture.. Instead,I can see me,taking picture... ^^v

Though the nature in some parts of my homeland is still untamed,but the hands of desctructive humans can reach far to it...

For many reasons,the local farmer cut the trees down. To light fire,to build houses, and most of all,for them to get some money to stay alive...

With not much skills and lack of knowledge,we can not blame them for what they've done...

I'm a GP graduated from a public medschool in my home country,Indonesia.It's been almost a year I've worked in a little city called Buol,in Central Celebes.

I work in the hospital owned by the local government.A not too big and sophisticated one.As you can see,at the picture,that's all we have in emergency room,where I am stationed for the last weeks.A single operating table and no more else...

All we have more is the capability to turn a what-looked-to-be-an-unused-things become something useful.Once we used a needle (we bent the sharp tip) to get a cottonbud from a patient's ear because we dont have the appropriate tool..

My hospital is indeed in desperate need of many things..But do not afraid to come whenever you need medical assistances..Cause we have the most important thing in medical field: brain and skills...
